Adoption Procedures, Animal Shelters, and Volunteering

There are a lot of cats in need of a good home.  If you are interested in adopting a cat, you should take a trip to your local animal shelter. You will see all kinds of gorgeous cats there. If you can't adopt a cat,but still love cats you can help by either fostering a pet or volunteering. There is always a need for help caring for the animals at the animal shelter.

You will learn a lot and have fun with what you're doing at the same time.  There are adoption procedures and fees which can be found usually on any animal shelter's website. I really enjoyed working on my blog and I learned a lot of useful information that I didn't know before. I hope my blog has helped someone else to learn something new or helped them to consider adopting a cat.

These are my special cats. Shawn and Marlon are both rescue cats. Unfortunately, my cat Shawn wandered too close to the road and got hit by a car recently. He was a really good cat and I miss him.

  1. Shelters include public shelters like the city and county animal shelters, animal control, police and health departments, dog wardens, and are often called the pound. There are also private shelters that might use the words “humane society” or “SPCA” in their name. They are all separate, independently run organizations or government offices. Just because shelters have similar names does not mean they are connected — just like different banks might have the word “bank” in their name.
